Tree Island was viewed as a non-core division by its parent, Georgetown Steel.  Georgetown Steel initiated an auction, during which management identified Tricor as their preferred go-forward partner.  Together with management, Tricor purchased Tree Island at an attractive valuation, applying a highly conservative capital structure.  The company's strong performance and conservative leverage allowed Tricor to refinance their investment two years after acquisition.
