Tricor has grown significantly since the inception of our first fund in 1996 with $50 million in committed capital and one Limited Partner. That Limited Partner continues to invest in subsequent funds along with some of the largest and most pre-eminent public and corporate pension funds and financial institutions in Canada and the U.S. Our growing stable of investment partners is testament to the success of our investment strategy, which has generated top-quartile performance for all of our funds.
Since Tricor’s founding, we have acquired numerous companies and employed over a billion dollars in capital. Our value-oriented investment strategy has not changed. We continue to focus on the Western and Midwestern regions of Canada and the U.S., seek out lower middle-market companies in underserved market segments, partner with high-quality management teams, and invest at prudent multiples. We have a proven strategy of growing and expanding Canadian businesses into the U.S. market and U.S. businesses into the Canadian market. Our strategy is executed by a highly experienced, stable investment team of professionals, led by Principals who started working together prior to Tricor’s inception.
