Tricor has grown significantly since the inception of our first fund in 1996 with $50 million in committed capital and one Limited Partner. That Limited Partner continues to invest in subsequent funds along with some of the largest and most pre-eminent public and corporate pension funds and financial institutions in Canada and the U.S.
Since Tricor’s founding, we have acquired numerous companies and employed over a billion dollars in capital. Our value-oriented investment strategy has not changed. We continue to focus on the Western and Midwestern regions of Canada and the U.S., seek out lower middle-market companies in underserved market segments, partner with high-quality management teams, and invest at prudent multiples. Our strategy is to grow and expand Canadian businesses into the U.S. market and U.S. businesses into the Canadian market. We have a highly experienced, stable investment team of professionals, led by Principals who started working together prior to Tricor’s inception. Tricor’s principals and investment professionals have a significant personal financial interest in the investments we make, ensuring an unwavering commitment to each transaction.
