Mike Neil
As Managing Director, Mike focuses on origination, strategic asset allocation, and portfolio performance while supporting the firm’s broader strategic initiatives. He serves on the boards of 37th Street Bakery, Big Country Equipment Repair, and Redwood Beverage Group.
With over 25 years of experience as a hands-on business leader, Mike has held senior operating roles and advised numerous privately held companies across a wide range of industries. He has worked alongside highly effective owners and management teams, guiding companies through complex situations including CCAA turnarounds, expansions, divestitures, and multiple acquisitions.
In 2015, Mike acquired ProSource Supply, then a single-location distributor of irrigation and landscaping products. Working alongside a capable and driven leadership team, he has grown it into a leading Western Canada distributor with six branches across BC and Alberta. Together they have professionalized sales and operations, introduced EOS as the management framework, strengthened the finance and accounting function, implemented a web-based ERP platform (NetSuite), and completed three industry acquisitions. That hands-on ownership experience shapes how he partners with the founders and management teams Tricor backs today.
When he’s not at work, Mike can usually be found on the sidelines of one of his daughters’ soccer fields, at the gym, or staying active with his family and their two dogs – a golden retriever and a chocolate lab.
Mike received his BComm from The University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
