Wendy Sage-Hayward
Wendy Sage-Hayward is a family enterprise advisor, educator, and author who has spent more than 30 years supporting leaders and enterprising families navigating the complex transitions of ownership, leadership, and generational continuity.
With lived experience as a board director in her father’s 135-year-old family business, Wendy understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with shared ownership and legacy. Her approach is guided by values of stewardship, collaboration, and deep respect—and by a belief that families grow stronger when they grow together.
Wendy serves as Academic Director of Family Enterprise Canada and is a Senior Consultant with The Family Business Consulting Group. She is also co-owner of an agri-tourism business with her own family on Saturna Island, British Columbia. She is the co-author of Own It! and Human Resources in Family Business, and is dedicated to helping families build enterprises that are not only successful, but deeply connected and purposeful across generations.
