Rod Senft

Rod Senft is a highly respected investor, business leader, and philanthropist with a distinguished career spanning private equity, corporate strategy, and law. As Chairman, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy, overseeing capital allocation, and mentoring leadership teams across its portfolio companies. His deep industry expertise and strategic vision have been instrumental in driving long-term value creation and sustainable growth.

In 1996, Rod co-founded Tricor Pacific Capital, a private equity firm specializing in mid-market investments across North America. Under his leadership as Managing Partner, Tricor successfully raised and managed four institutional funds, deploying over $1.2 billion in committed capital. His investment philosophy—focused on operational excellence, disciplined capital management, and long-term partnerships—has positioned Tricor as a leader in its sector. He remains actively involved as a major shareholder in Fund IV and its successor, Fund V.

Before founding Tricor, he practiced corporate and securities law at two of Canada’s top law firms, where he advised on complex mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance transactions. This foundation gave him a unique perspective on structuring investments, mitigating risk, and navigating regulatory environments.

In addition to his work at Tricor, Rod is a founding partner and principal shareholder of Pender West Capital Partners Inc., an investment firm that focuses on private equity opportunities in the lower mid-market.

Beyond his business endeavors, Rod is deeply committed to philanthropy and community leadership. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Fraser Institute, a leading public policy think tank, and sits on the Advisory Board of the Mosheni Institute of Urological Sciences supporting advancements in medical research and treatment. Through the Senft Family Foundation, he is actively involved in numerous charitable initiatives.

Rod holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba.
